HFMD tiger

LO got hfmd. No idea from where. We went to Malaysia from 1st - 5th June, came back and she got a fever that same night. Brought her to doctor on the 6th night, saw a couple spots on her hands, but doc not convinced hfmd partly cos she's not schooling yet. The next morn the legs outbreak of rash. Immediately brought to doctor again, still not totally convinced saying got chance of chicken pox. Then the LO did not eat or drink much the whole day, even latching she'll stop and stare at boobies n cry.
Then on 7th night she woke up and cried for 2 hours, coupled with fever and entire day of not eating, we decided to bring her to KKH, thinking that doc will give stronger meds, maybe a jab and send us home.
End up they decided to ward her for the night for observation of dehydration. Positive attitude me still thought 'ok, overnight should be juz one night.' And that night became another night, and another night, and yet another night.
Throughout the first 2 days, LO only breastfed and refused anything and everything. Even ice cream.
Didn't want to put her on drip at first. But by Thursday evening, with her urine output terrible, I had to let her go on the drip. (Insertion of the needle is another story in itself)
Eventually on the 3rd day (sat) she finally managed to have a few mouthful of soup and a few sips of apple juice.
Now on our 4th day in, she has a much better appetite n managed to eat more. Right now waiting for doctor to come review and highly likely discharge her.

Throughout these few days, I was her only constant. She developed a fear of seeing doctors n nurses, but as she got better, her mood improved as well.
It was when I heard her laugh again to realise how much I missed hearing that the past few days. Although with her improved mood and energy, the attitude and stubbornness comes back as well. At 14months old she is testing the limits already.
Nonetheless, it is great to see her get better and I thank the higher beings for bringing this little cutie into my life.
